Doja Cat has cancelled her upcoming festival concerts and dropped out of The Weeknd‘s Stadium Tour due to tonsil surgery.
“I wanted you to hear it from me first. Unfortunately I have to have surgery on my tonsils ASAP. The surgery is routine but the recovery is going to take awhile due to swelling. That means I have to cancel my festival run this summer as well as The Weeknd tour. I feel horrible about this but can’t wait for this to heal and get back to making music and create an experience for y’all,” Doja Cat said in a statement posted on her Instagram Story.
The “Kiss Me More” singer had given a hint a day earlier, saying in a Twitter post that her doctor had found an “abscess” in her left tonsil.
“My whole throat is f**ked so i might have some bad news for yall coming soon,” she tweeted.
Doja’s cancelled Festival dates include a performance at the Hangout Festival in Alabama, which was scheduled for last Saturday, and the U.K.’s Glastonbury Festival next month.
The singer was also scheduled to open for The Weeknd’s summer stadium tour.
