Trey Songz Regrets Dropping the Ball in "Fumble" Music Video
2:08PM Monday
March 18, 2013

Trey Songz opens his "Fumble" music video with those three little words that we all love to hear: "I was wrong."

Trey is a man whose discovered the error of his ways, and in the black-and-white "Fumble" clip released this week, fans hear his voice as he sits aboard what sounds like a train, writing a letter to the one he's hurt.  "You let me hold something so beautiful but I couldn't even comprehend how valuable it was until I dropped it. I broke it. And you gathered up the pieces before I could pick 'em up," Trey is heard saying in a voiceover.

Blending real tour footage with what we'll assume is a fictional storyline, Trey shares his heartache.  "I wrote this song. You'll know it when you hear it.  And know that every night when I sing it, I'll be thinking of you," he says as the video cuts to a scene of a sold-out arena, where he's standing before a sea of fans.  Spotlights in the distance make it look as if Trey is facing a pair of headlights.

One somber scene follows another, as Trey reflects on dropping the ball in his relationship.  One minute, he's putting on a happy face for fans, signing autographs backstage.  Then, when he's alone, he's laying on a couch, staring at the ceiling.
